Gaggia: The inventors of the modern Coffee Machine

In 1947 Achille Gaggia changed the way we drink coffee. Instead of using steam pressure to force water through the coffee, he introduced a lever arrangement. At six times the pressure of previous machines, the coffee bean released much more of its magic, producing a drink that was intensely flavoured, sweet, with a smooth texture and a ‘crema’ – it was unlike anything people had experienced.

Today, Gaggia remains a leading force in coffee machines, manufacturing some of the world’s best. Gaggia continues the tradition of innovation, and superb quality.
